Michael Ryan Pritchard (now known as Mike Dirnt) was born on 4th
May, 1972 into poverty. His mother was a heroin addict, and Mike was given up for adoption when he was a baby for this reason.
As a child, Mike went between families for awhile, and when he was 6, his foster parents divorced, and he settled with
his adoptive mother and elder sister. Mike met Billie in the 5th grade in the school cafeteria, and they have been best friends
ever since. Eventually, Mike rented a room in Billie's house, and worked with Billie's mother at Rod's Hickory Pit. From the
moment Billie and Mike were introducted to Punk Rock, they were hooked, and later formed their band Sweet Children. Unlike
Billie, Mike obtained good grades in high school, and completed some courses at a local community college.
Mike married his long term girlfriend Anastasia in 1996 and in April
of 1997 their daughter was born, Estelle Desiree. Mike loves his daughter more than anything, and he describes her as his
hero (Mike also has her name tattooed on his upper right arm). Today Mike and Anastasia are divorced, but remain good friends,
and Mike was re-married at the beginning of 2004 but was divorved during mid 2004. He now lives in Oakland, California,
when not touring.
